SPECIAL SILVER BRAZING ALLOYS

These are alloys that stand out from common silver solders due to their composition with the incorporation of nickel and manganese in their structure, giving them particularly high wetting characteristics and mechanical resistance.
Sopormetal offers several types of brazing alloys for diamond tool segments, as well as in the carbide and Tungsten carbide sector.
These materials generally include nickel and manganese (or both) to facilitate wetting of the tungsten carbide in order to increase its mechanical strength. These alloys are also available in the form of laminated or tri - metallic straps, the latter consisting of two layers of silver and one of copper.
This technology lowers the residual stress in a cooling process that arises due to differences in thermal expansion between the tungsten and the "steel" base material, being particularly important when joining segments based on tungsten carbides with more than 1.2 mm in diameter and on large surfaces.
